Knowledge on-demand, seamlessly recorded.

Since the start of the 90s, we have entered a knowledge-based economy. Knowledge is thus a valuable commercial resource. At a time when communications methods have taken a leap forward, it is vital for organizations, whether they are corporate, educational or administrative, to capitalize on this resource.

UbiCast's vision is founded on 4 themes :

1- Digitizing knowledge to give it value

Every day, every hour and minute, knowledge is being exchanged : classes, training sessions, conferences, etc. All of these "events", whether internal of external, deserve to be saved and re-exploited. However, over thousands of years, the human brain has grown to receive knowledge from another human being, with visual senses crucial to consider body language and non-verbal communication. Recording a lecture on video and sharing it over networks enable us to truly transcend time and space by making that knowledge available when and where we need it.

2- Rich Media, an optimized vector

The Rich Media format created with UbiCast solutions synchronizes the video of a speaker and his/her presentation material. First of all, this has the advantage of maintaining a viewer's attention – just try and follow an hour-long training session with audio and slides only. Rich Media also offers navigation by chapters, keyword search within slides and even search within audio, for users to precisely find the content they are looking for. Rich Media is indeed optimized to give access to precise elements within large knowledge bases.

3- Transparence for the end user, the key

At UbiCast, we are convinced that the use of this type of tool is conditioned by the fact that it is transparent, that it integrates with the habits of its users. In a nutshell, transparence = automation. We would never expect a teacher or conference speaker to manage camera framing and video chapterizing during a lecture. We have thus given great importance to all the processes that we can automate through technology, whilst guaranteeing quality : starting and stopping recordings, camera framing of the presenter, creating chapters, extracting key words, publishing, etc.

4- An open and adaptive view of publishing

Once a recording is finished, the question of publishing and sharing is immediate : should the media be made public on a well-know Web platform, or should it be preciously kept on an intranet ? Each organization has its view and context. UbiCast has always been very open-minded on the issue by making its EasyCast solutions compatible with as many third party platforms as possible. Indeed, UbiCast is the only company in its market to offer compatibility with competitor's hosting/sharing platforms. Why ? Because some clients have existing infrastructures to which they have grown used to.
